Book Of The Month: The Magician's Elephant

Title: The Magician’s Elephant
Author: Kate Dicamillo
Publisher: Candlewick Press
Pages: 201
Genre: Fiction

The new book of the month is ‘The Magician’s Elephant’. Here is the summary:

When a fortuneteller’s tent appears in the market square of the city of Baltese, orphan Peter Augustus Duchene knows the questions that he needs to ask. Does his sister still live? And if so, how can he find her? The fortuneteller’s mysterious answer (An elephant! An elephant will lead him there!) sets off a chain of events so remarkable, so impossible, that Peter can hardly dare to believe it. But it is -- all of it -- true.

To choose the book, I went to a site that recommended good books. There were quite a few common books, but the first book caught my eye. It showed an elephant looking down. The author is Kate Dicamillo, the author of ‘The Tale of Desperaux’. Reading the summary, I knew what book I would choose. Hope you enjoy ’The Magician’s Elephant.’
